1993Axel Springer’s new printing plant in Berlin-Spandau cost 500 million euros and was opened in 1993 by German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. It could print 40,000 newspapers per hour. The entire system weighed 2,750 tons, was 127 meters long and 14 meters high. Construction took just two and a half years.
